Slovenian Harry Potter fans stroke back after the their publisher employed a translator who already messed up the translation of the sixth book.
Harry Potter fans from Slovenia were quite desperate about the translation of the final Book. The publisher "EPTA" employed a new translator for the sixt book who hasn't read a Harry Potter book before and who accepted just because it was a well paid job - naturally the outcome was a desaster.
For a long time it seemed like Slovenian fans have no other choice than coping with it.
Now the Slovenian Harry Potter Fansite Harry Potter Slovenija has written to Joanne K. Rowling's literary agency to ask them to intervene on behalf of Slovenian readers.
As a consequence EPTA lost the poblishing rights to Mladinska knjiga, the hugest Slovenian publisher and a very reliable company.
The final book will be translated by Jakob Kenda, who translated book 1-5 into Slovenian already.
The publication of the Slovenian translation is announced for 16 February
2008.
Cheers
Tom
